The Reality of the Retail Market

I started trading in 2012. If you had told me back then that I'd spend the next decade staring at gold charts at 2 AM, I probably would have chosen a simpler career.

Let's be completely honest: the retail forex market is engineered to take your margins. Brokers spend millions on marketing to convince you that financial freedom is just a few clicks away. They highlight high leverage, low barriers to entry, and glamorous lifestyles.

What they don't tell you is that 74% to 89% of retail accounts lose money. They don't tell you about spread widening during news releases, slippage on stop-losses, or overnight rollover fees (Riba) that slowly eat away your balance.

My Editorial & Review Policy

I do not write paid reviews. If a broker has terrible execution, wide spreads, or questionable swap-free policies, I will list it. I test accounts with my own capital, checking if the broker automatically removes swaps or if they try to sneak in administrative handling fees. If they aren't regulated by a reputable Tier-1 regulator (like the FCA, ASIC, or CySEC), you will see a prominent warning on the review page.

My Trading Philosophy

I don't believe in secret institutional hacks or 100% win-rate systems. My trading style is strictly technical:

  • Higher Timeframe Focus: I analyze H4 and Daily charts. Lower timeframes are mostly noise engineered to trigger emotional over-trading.
  • Smart Money Concepts: I trade liquidity sweeps, market structure shifts, and reaction zones. I want to see where retail stops are resting before entering.
  • Risk Preservation: Retail survival is not about how much you make on a winning streak. It is about how small you keep your drawdowns on a losing streak. I never risk more than 1% of capital per trade.

Why Swap-Free Matters

For Muslim traders, usury (Riba) is categorically forbidden. In conventional trading, holding a leveraged position overnight accrues swap fees, which is interest.

Specialized swap-free (Islamic) accounts remove these overnight interest fees. However, you must be careful. Many brokers offer "swap-free" accounts but silently widen spreads or introduce administrative handling charges after a few days. My job is to verify these accounts and expose any hidden usury elements.

Areas of Focus

Sharia Compliance

Verifying swap-free account terms, checking spreads, and auditing compliance with the hand-to-hand (Taqabudh) spot requirement.

Technical Setup

Evaluating platform stability across MT4, MT5, and cTrader, charting tools, and execution latency.

Cashier Speeds

Testing deposit and withdrawal processing times, with a focus on transaction fees, global e-wallets, and cryptocurrency funding.

Prop Firm Audits

Analyzing funding challenges, profit share payouts, and swap terms on funded prop accounts.

Remember: Speculative retail trading carries extreme risk. Never deposit funds you cannot afford to lose.

Sajid is 38. He has been trading the retail forex markets since 2012. Over the last decade and a half, he has seen it all—from sudden spread widening during news releases, to price action fakeouts, to brokers attempting to sneak in overnight rollover interest fees (Riba) under different names. He started this project to explain the realities of online trading. He doesn't sell dreams of Lamborghinis or 'passive income machines.' His approach is heavily technical, focused on higher timeframes, clean liquidity sweeps, and strict risk preservation. He believes retail survival is about keeping drawdowns small and protecting trading capital at all costs. Sajid specializes in Sharia-compliant, swap-free trading setups, ensuring that Muslim traders can participate in the markets without violating Islamic finance principles. When he is not staring at XAUUSD charts at 2 AM, he's writing blunt, fluff-free broker reviews and educational content for traders seeking honest market insights.
